DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Miami Valley’s own GenCon returned to the Dayton Convention Center this weekend.
AcadeCon organizers say they saw an increased interest in the event this year. Running from Friday, Nov. 8 to Sunday, Nov. 10, the convention focuses on tabletop gaming and roleplaying games.

This is the 12th year for the local convention, and the event’s ninth year on E. Fifth Street at the convention center.
“If you’ve never been to anything, this can be overwhelming, it’s a full tabletop convention. So we have all the things you would expect from a really big convention,” said Michael Ross, lead organizer. “So we have games, roleplaying games, game demos. We had a charity raffle, a costume contest on Saturday. We even have karaoke Friday night and Saturday night.”
Attendees can visit on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
