Man facing federal charges for numerous alleged armed robberies

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton man is facing federal charges for allegedly committing eight armed robberies in less than two weeks.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio reported Friday morning that Timothy Farr, 43, made an appearance in federal court on Thursday, Dec. 19. Farr is accused of showing a gun at local drive-thru businesses and gas stations, where he reportedly demanded cash and cigarettes.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Farr is facing the following charges:

  • Interference with commerce by threats or violence
  • Using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Farr is accused of committing the armed robberies at the following locations:

  • Dec. 3: Sunoco on Wayne Avenue, Dayton
  • Dec. 4: Marathon on Linden Avenue, Dayton
  • Dec. 6: Ray’s Xenia Avenue Market, Dayton
  • Dec. 7: Free Pike Drive-Thru, Dayton
  • Dec. 8: Sunoco on Selma Road, Springfield
  • Dec. 10: Mini Mart on North Main Street, Dayton
  • Dec. 11: Marathon on East Fifth Street, Dayton
  • Dec. 15: Sammy’s Drive-thru store, Riverside
