Christmas week warm-up, but not without some rain

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — We’ve seen our last cold day–for a while. With high pressure pushing off to the east, winds are starting to become south/southeasterly which means a warm-up is not far away. We’ll enjoy highs in the 40s and 50s over the next week.

But the mild temperatures won’t come without some rain. Our next weather maker will bring a few light rain showers to the Miami Valley, if not by late Monday afternoon, then Monday evening.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and not quite so cold. Low 23

MONDAY: Partly cloudy in the morning, then becoming cloudy in the afternoon with a slight chance of a rain shower before sunset. Breezy and mild. High 44

MONDAY NIGHT: Scattered evening rain showers likely. Otherwise, cloudy. Low 35

CHRISTMAS EVE (TUESDAY): Cloudy and seasonably warm. High 42

CHRISTMAS DAY (WEDNESDAY): Cloudy and mild with a chance of a few rain showers. High 45

Santa will really need to depend of Rudolph’s nose to guide his sleigh Christmas Eve Tuesday as it will cloudy during both day and night. The clouds will stick around Christmas Day Wednesday when there is also a chance of a few light rain showers. Despite the lack of sunshine most of the week, the warming trend will continue with highs in the mid 40s Christmas, then climbing into the 50s starting Thursday.
