Attempted burglary ends with alleged suspect dead

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is dead after an alleged attempted burglary Friday morning.

According to the Englewood Police Department, a resident in the 600 block of Overla Boulevard reported that they were awakened to a person attempting to burglarize their residence.

When officers arrived they found the alleged male suspect, deceased, lying in the yard of the home. Medics also responded to the scene, as did an investigator from the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

An initial investigation by officers indicates that a second resident went out the rear of the home to investigate.

The resident reportedly encountered the alleged suspect in the back yard, where three shots were reported fired. The alleged male has not been identified as of this writing.

The Englewood Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
