Grocery stores, shoppers gear up for forecasted winter storm

As the Miami Valley prepares for another round of winter weather on Sunday and Monday, people are running to the stores to stock up.

The parking lot at Kroger in Beavercreek was packed all day on Friday. Shoppers there told News Center 7 that they’re making every preparation necessary for this weekend’s forecast.

“I want to get geared up so if gets bad, I don’t have to worry about getting out for anything,” Kenny Weeks, of Dayton, said.

Weeks finished up his shopping at Dot’s Market on Friday. He said he was focused on getting his grocery essentials for the next week.

The store’s owner, Nick Moshos, said the forecasted snow means they’ll sell more staples items like milk, and bread, eggs. He said they’ll also sell more things like snow shovels and “other items that you wouldn’t think to buy unless there’s a snowstorm coming in.”
