Man accused of dismembering father’s body now faces murder charges

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Only a week after what was to be his final pre-trial hearing for charges related to his father’s death , a Dayton man has now been indicted on additional charges, including murder.

The Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Edgar Keiter Jr., 52, on:

  • Four counts of Aggravated Murder
  • Two counts of Murder
  • Two counts of Aggravated Robbery
  • Two counts of Aggravated Burglary
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • Two counts of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle
  • Two counts of Grand Theft from an Elderly or Disabled Victim
  • Two counts of Theft from an Elderly or Disabled Victim
  • Four counts of Complicity to Commit Grand Theft
  • Three counts of Complicity to Commit Forgery
  • Two counts of Complicity to Commit Theft
  • One count of Misuse of Credit Cards

Keiter had faced a Jan. 27 trial on charges of gross abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence and theft, related to the discovery of the body parts of his father, Edgar Keiter.

Trotwood police found the elder Keiter’s legs in a garbage bag last May. Later, Kettering Police found the rest of his remains and several of his belongings in a storage unit…
