Community fights for stricter penalties after tragic death of local student in crosswalk

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – After the tragic death of Lakota freshman Aspen Runnels, who was hit by a car while crossing a marked crosswalk in 2024, there has been a concerted effort to increase penalties for drivers who hit someone in a school zone.
