First graders at Carlisle Elementary School got to meet and learn about three birds from the Ohio Bird Sanctuary Friday afternoon during a surprise presentation.
The first grade students were led to the gym at Carlisle Friday afternoon by first grade teacher Catherine Keller, who said the presentation from the Bird Sanctuary ties in with the students’ current curriculum.
“We have new curriculum in place which focuses on birds for the second half of the first grade school year,” Keller said Friday. “We thought it would be a great idea to bring real birds to the students, and the Ohio Bird Sanctuary has a wonderful program that did just that.”…
