Large fight causes Dayton high school to shelter in place

Several Dayton police cruisers were seen outside of Belmont High School Wednesday morning after a large fight broke out.

Police were called out to the school on Wayne Avenue after reports of a fight around 10:41 a.m., according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

A spokesperson for Dayton Public Schools said in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the school was placed under a precautionary shelter-in-place after “multiple student altercations in the hallway.” It was lifted around 11:37 a.m.
