Waste Watch: Stubbs Park reopens; how renovations were funded

CENTERVILLE, Ohio (WKEF) — Stubbs Park in Centerville reopened on Sunday after being closed since the fall of 2023 for major renovations. The total cost of the project was $8 million, and Dayton 24/7 Now learned the details about how it was funded.

The vision and planning for the renovations started back in 2019. It was not until 2021 that architects were contacted and the plan started to become more solidified. Centerville’s Assistant City Engineer David Swanson said the city asked the community for input about what amenities and features people wanted to see in the new version of the park before getting bids.
