Duo working in deed scam faces years in prison for stealing homes

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — A woman learned her fate after she and a co-conspirator were convicted of theft and forgery.

Prosecuting Attorney Matt Heck said that Rosalyn Johnson, 40, and her partner, 39-year-old Diamond Washington, were convicted of the following charges after stealing houses through quit-claim deed fraud:

  • Forgery of an elderly or disabled person <>> $37,500
  • Forgery <>> $150,000
  • Forgery <>> $7,500
  • Grand Theft <>> $7,500
  • Telecommunications Fraud

She was sentenced to spend a maximum of four and a half years in prison and Washington was sentenced on May 30 to spend a maximum of three years in prison.

Johnson worked with Washington, 39, to operate a Limited Liability Corporation, Love Has Homes, according to Prosecutor Heck. In this, the two filed quit claim deeds, giving the business ownership of real estate properties…
