VANDALIA, Ohio (WKEF) — Dayton 24/7 Now’s Kaitlyn Herman rides in a Huey helicopter at the Dayton Air Show.
The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation brought several Vietnam-era helicopters to the Dayton Air Show. The AAHF is a non-profit that travels with ten aircraft to not only gives rides to the public, but honor veterans and get the next generation excited about science, technology, engineering, and math. They’ve been a fixture of the Dayton Air Show for almost 15 years now and have given rides to all kinds of people over the years.
“It can be young people that are just becoming aware of aviation, military aviation, and getting interested. It quite often is a family member whose father or mother or somebody was involved in Vietnam or some combat situation, and they want to experience and have a more visceral feel for how that went.
