‘Intentionally set on fire’: Man indicted months after grandmother dies

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Months after a woman was found at a Darke County house fire, her grandson was arrested in Dayton.

Jamin Brenner, 36, was indicted by a Darke County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated arson. Law enforcement said the indictment was made after authorities and investigators conducted an investigation which lasted six months.

Brenner is said to have lived at a residence in the 40 block of Little John Road in Neave Township, according to authorities.

The body of his 86-year-old grandmother, Beverly Lees, was found in the home on Dec. 12, 2024. She was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders were sent to the address for a reported fire, according to the sheriff’s office…
