BEAVERDAM, Ohio — A man driving the wrong way on I-75 died when his pickup truck collided head-on with a van near the exit for State Rt. 696.
Around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Donald Eckler, 82, of Lincolnton, N.C., was southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 when he collided with a Sprinter van being driven by Yazan Aljayousi, 22, of Dearborn, Mich., according to the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A northbound tractor-trailer driven by Douglas Smith, 53, of Bay City, Mich., then struck debris from the initial crash and collided with an SUV that had swerved to avoid the first crash.
