Ohio bans arrest and citation quotas with new law

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Senate Bill 114 has been signed into law, prohibiting law enforcement agencies across Ohio from using quotas for arrests and citations. This move has been welcomed by many in the law enforcement community.

“If you look across all of the larger municipalities in the state, every one of the union leaders has openly spoken against quotas, they’re not needed,” said Sgt. Kyle Thomas, president of the Dayton Fraternal Order of Police. Thomas noted that most law agencies already have internal regulations against using quotas.
