MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio (WKEF) — Law enforcement dash and body cam videos from Ohio might not be something that is seen as often, because it could cost up to $750 just to get access to them, even though they are considered public records.
House Bill 315 was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine in January, but it went into effect at the beginning of April.
A provision in the bill states that, “a state or local law enforcement agency may charge a requester the actual cost associated with preparing a video record for inspection or production, not to exceed seventy-five dollars per hour of video produced, nor seven hundred fifty dollars total.”…
