‘Heightened security’ expected at Wright-Patt AFB

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Commuters and residents around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base should be aware of an exercise lasting several days.

From July 10 to 18, Wright-Patt is holding an exercise with an emphasis on anti-terrorism and base sustainment procedures.

“This exercise is designed to evaluate readiness, enhance response capabilities, and ensure the safety and security of all personnel,” said Wright-Patt.

“Enhanced security measures,” “heightened security screenings,” limited road closures and traffic delays will occur during the time period. Alert sirens, the “Giant Voice” and electronic systems are also expected to be noticed…
