Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Police Department has issued an alert to inform residents about a concerning rise in thefts associated with Facebook Marketplace transactions throughout the city.
According to the department, “Facebook Marketplace Thefts are again trending” in Dayton. Suspects are reportedly targeting sellers of high-value items such as ATVs. They often ask for a test drive, hand over envelopes stuffed with fake money, and then speed off with the item, leaving sellers empty-handed.
