Firearm homicides peak in 2025 and 2022 for Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton Police Department has released its summer update for statistics for murder, non-negligent manslaughter and homicides in 2025 so far.

The data is based off of reports from Jan. 1 to July 17 annually. The data shows a pretty consistent trend.

2025 was the highest year in recent records for murder and non-negligent manslaughter, with 23 victims.
