Lawmakers, court system addressing increased juvenile crime rate

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — So far this year, 46 teens have been arrested for possession of a firearm.

With the growing trend of youth committing crimes, juvenile courtrooms are seeing more and more cases, and local lawmakers are searching for a solution.

“Stealing cars and either getting locked up or dying, yeah, that’s the extent of what’s going to happen to them,” said Rep. Phil Plummer, Ohio House – 39th District.
