Mosquitos in Dayton test positive for West Nile Virus

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton and Montgomery County Public Health will conduct a mosquito control measure tonight.

The agency will spray the area of Wegerzyn Garden Center and Sandalwood Park during dusk hours Monday, following positive cases of West Nile Virus found in mosquito trapped at those locations.

“It is not uncommon for a mosquito to test positive for West Nile Virus, and Public Health’s program is designed to help educate the public about the diseases mosquitoes may carry, how they can protect themselves from mosquito bites, and how they can help reduce the mosquito population,” the public health office said…
