DPS looks to community for help with high school transportation amid bus changes

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — As Dayton high school students return to class Wednesday, they’ll have to figure out their own way to get to school.

Bus driver shortages prevent high school students from riding yellow buses, and recent legislation changes prevent Dayton Public Schools from purchasing RTA bus passes for students.

With the district’s hands tied, DPS says families and community members are getting creative in order to help the kids make it to school.
