Federal Charges Filed After Violent Standoff

An Ohio man wanted for murder is now facing a litany of federal charges after he allegedly shot at law enforcement officers attempting to serve an arrest warrant at a hotel in Springfield, Ohio. The suspect, 34-year-old Andre Jordan II of Reynoldsburg, surrendered after an hours-long standoff.

On August 8, an arrest warrant was issued for Jordan in connection with a murder case. The Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST), a federal task force, took on the investigation, which eventually led them to the Quality Inn in Springfield on August 14.

According to federal charging documents, SOFAST members, which included deputies with the U.S. Marshals Service and FBI agents, tracked Jordan to a hotel room. After law enforcement announced their presence, Jordan allegedly fired a shot through the room’s window toward officers near the pool area, and then fired a second round through the front door…
