Staff will be armed at Preble-Shawnee schools, superintendent says

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Superintendent of Preble-Shawnee Local Schools reminded the community that teachers will be armed this school year.

According to the Eaton Register-Herald, Todd Bowling said so during a board of education meeting on Aug. 12.

During the meeting, Bowling reminded those in attendance that select staff has been certified to conceal and carry a firearm, which is in accordance with House Bill 99.

“It will not be posted anywhere, which means we have staff that will conceal and carry. They will not be identified,” Bowling said during the meeting. “You cannot request their names for public record request, and no one will have access to who the staff are, but we will have those in the buildings. That does include evening events also. So I just wanted to make that announcement one more time.”…
