Demolition of blighted homes in Santa Clara neighborhood a work in progress

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Some blighted residential structures in Dayton’s Santa Clara neighborhood are being demolished.

WDTN.com recently identified that a “residential wrecking permit” had been approved for a number of properties in the neighborhood, found on the North Main and Riverdale corridor.

One of the homes approved to be demolished is 105 W. Norman Ave. As of Aug. 22, the structure still stands with protective covers on the doors and windows of the property. Visible damage to the exterior was seen by our crews when we arrived.

Both 40 W. Fairview Ave. and 159 W. Hudson Ave. had the permit approved. As of Aug. 22, both homes had been demolished…
