2 Arrested In Ohio After Unsupervised Children Found Living In ‘Horrible’ Conditions

A welfare check in Ohio has led to child endangerment charges and the detention of an undocumented man by immigration authorities.

Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones said deputies responded on Sept. 9, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., to the 1500 block of Biscayne Drive in St. Clair Township after a caller reported a small child had gotten off a school bus unsupervised. The complainant walked the child home and discovered the caregiver inside unresponsive and unable to be woken.

Deputies arriving on scene were greeted by several small children. After repeated announcements, they found a man later identified as the childrens uncle asleep in a back bedroom. Investigators said the home was extremely unsafe. Deputies reported finding a white powdery chemical on the floor with childrens fingerprints in it, fecal matter covering the walls, insects flying and crawling throughout the home, and no food in the refrigerator or cabinets. Trash, dirty diapers and more fecal matter littered the floors, and deputies said they found no clean clothes, bedding or sleeping areas for the children…
