HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) – The Butler County Veterans Service Commission is hosting a “Silent Watch” outside the commission’s office in Hamilton until 11 p.m. on Sept. 17.
It’s to spread awareness on the uptick in veteran suicides and to let veterans know they are not alone and help is available.
Butler County veterans are four times more likely to die by suicide than non-veterans. In 2024, seven veterans lost their lives to suicide. Twelve have died in 2025, according to the commission.
