A fatal shooting early Thursday appears to have involved a Doordash driver and a man behind the apartments on Delta Road in Springfield, according to a 911 call obtained by the News-Sun.
Police responded to the shooting in the 1400 block of Delta Road around 3:10 a.m. Thursday, finding 22-year-old Jalesseazay Posey. Posey was transported to Mercy Health – Springfield, where he was pronounced dead. Police received five 911 calls, including one from a man who believed he may have shot another person in self defense while performing a delivery.
The man told a dispatcher that he was “hiding in the bushes” after engaging in a “gunfight” with another man. He said the other man “had the gun first” and held the caller and two other people at gunpoint before telling the caller to “get in the car.”…
