Dayton, Ohio (WDTN) – Many may be unaware that Dayton is home to a variety of ghost stories and haunted locations. From graveyards to news buildings, here are some of Dayton’s spookiest places:
Woodland Cemetery
Founded in 1841, Woodland Cemetery is the final resting place for several of Dayton’s historical figures such as the Wright Brothers, Paul Lawrence Dunbar, and Charles F. Kettering.
It’s also home to a handful of spirits that many claim to have spotted over the years. Two of the cemetery’s most famous spirits are Johnny Morehouse and his dog.
Legend has it that Morehouse, who was just five years old at the time, slipped into the Miami & Erie Canal in 1860 while walking along it with his dog. The canine immediately dove into the canal after Morehouse in an attempt to save him…
