Waynesville schools resume classes after brief lockdown due to nearby police activity

WARREN COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF) — A local school district was placed in a soft lockdown Monday afternoon amid an active investigation involving a man on the run.

According to a Wayne Local Schools spokesperson, the Waynesville Elementary School, Waynesville Middle School and the Waynesville High School were placed on a soft lockdown as a result of a “law enforcement matter” happening in the schools’ area, off campus.
