Dayton Police Department to open temporary substation beside RTA transit hub

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — The City of Dayton is bringing more of a police presence to downtown Dayton by early 2026. The temporary Dayton Police Department (DPD) substation will be next to the Greater Dayton RTA hub while the project for the permanent one gets off the ground.

The City of Dayton recently purchased property on the corner of East 4th and South St. Clair Streets to become the new permanent police station downtown.
