Ohio celebrates National First Responders Day

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Several local cities and departments are celebrating National First Responders Day on Tuesday, Oct. 28.

The day is dedicated to honoring the courage and sacrifice of first responders, including police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and other public health and emergency workers.

“It takes a special person to put the lives of others ahead of themselves,” said the Ohio Department of Public Safety in a Facebook post. “Our first responders do this every single day. All Ohioans can be proud of the bravery, courage, and character of our first responders.”
