DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The halls of Dayton Children’s Hospital came to life as staff and patients dressed up for Halloween on Friday, Oct. 31.
This Halloween marks the 23rd year of the tradition, and it has completely transformed entire units.
Hospital staff say the celebration creates a sense of normalcy for the patients.
Montgomery Co. encourages ‘green Halloween’
“There’s going to be a costume shop and they get Halloween activities back,” said Kristy Rowe, manager of the Child Life Department. “It’s a big deal, but it’s also a really big deal for the staff. They go all out in their costumes and their decorations, helping us to provide that environment that lets kids do their normalization.”…
