On Friday, a commission working on behalf of local veterans approved the establishment of a SNAP relief program.
The Montgomery County Veterans Service Commission met for a special meeting and determined that the program is a necessary act as the government shutdown continues.
Many of the commission’s clients receive SNAP benefits. The program will supply these benefits in the form of Kroger gift certificates through the month.
