Dayton restaurant offers free kids’ meals to SNAP recipients

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Root Beer Stande in Dayton is offering free kids’ meals to any child who is on SNAP benefits and needs a meal.

In a social media post, the restaurant stated, “We have thought a lot about how we can help with the lack of SNAP in our community. We threw some ideas around and landed on free kids’ meals.”

LIST: Food pantries throughout the Miami Valley

The restaurant says that they will offer one of four meals a day, including a hot dog, burger, grilled cheese, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Each of the meals will come with fries and a drink.

All customers have to do is show their SNAP card to receive the meal…
