Miami Valley businesses ensure warm meals for families affected by SNAP funding issues

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF)– Local businesses making a difference providing free meals to families affected by the government shutdown. Giovanni’s in Fairborn is just one restaurant trying to give hope during this difficult time.

“We miss seeing a lot of familiar faces here at lunch and wanted to get them back in the restaurant some way,” said Cassaundra Spaziani, whose family owns the restaurant.

Although a judge has ordered the Trump Administration to fully fund SNAP benefits amid the government shutdown, many families are struggling to feed themselves as that plays out in court. Now, local businesses across the Miami Valley are stepping up to make sure those in need get a warm meal…
