DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Many in the Miami Valley are taking time to honor those who serve and have served.Here are ways people in the community were saying thank you and giving back.
Through its 2025 Boxes of Hope campaign, the Beavercreek-based Gala of Hope Foundation assembled and distributed 100 personalized care packages to veterans receiving cancer treatment. In partnership with the Dayton VA, the foundation has also established a $30,000 Veterans Assistance Fund to help with transportation to medical appointments and critical household expenses during treatment.
Each box of hope contains essential items, nonperishable food, personal care items, and grocery assistance in the form of a $100 Kroger gift card. Organizers say the boxes are more than supplies; it’s a message of gratitude…
