Family demands answers after inmate dies at Lebanon Correctional Institution

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A local family is demanding answers after their loved one died at Lebanon Correctional Institution just weeks before his scheduled release.

Two Lebanon prison employees are on leave amid an investigation into the death of 38-year-old LaSelle Allen. A nurse and corrections officer are under investigation, with the corrections officer specifically being probed for use of force.

“He was my baby. LaSelle was lovable and stuff. I know he has done things, but that doesn’t mean nothing. He was punished for them not by death,” Allen’s mother said. “Now I’m just asking for Justice for my baby because he didn’t deserve that.”…
