Families honor loved ones at 35th annual homicide victim memorial in Montgomery County

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF)– Monday was an emotional night for families who attended Montgomery County’s 35th Annual Homicide Victim Memorial Service. Dayton 24/7 Now’s, Kysha Hancock was at Westminster Presbyterian Church where the families hung ornaments on a special memorial tree to keep their loved ones’ memories alive.

“Tonight, we’re moralizing 48 individuals, citizens who have been murdered or killed in Montgomery County over the last year,” said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr.

Heck said losing a family member is traumatic and can make the holiday season especially difficult, but he wants those experiencing loss to know he and his office are there for support…
