A man who successfully overturned his conviction for a 2023 murder was once again found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 46 1/2 years to life in prison.
Jerrel Fleming, 39, was convicted by a jury in June 2024 of murder and on several firearm charges and subsequently sentenced to 46 1/2 years to life in prison. That conviction was overturned earlier this year on the grounds that the trial court should not have allowed a phone call recording to be played for the jury.
