Dayton man facing federal charges after recent carjackings

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A suspect in two carjackings that happened hours apart is facing federal charges.

According to the U.S. Attorney of the Southern District of Ohio, Colby Smith, 32, is accused of kidnapping, carjacking and using a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

Smith was in federal court on Thursday, Dec. 11, and is due back for a detention hearing on Dec. 16.
