Prosecution tries to link man to killing of 12-year-old despite not having the weapons

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Not recovering the guns used in the killing of a sleeping 12-year-old girl was always going to be a hurdle in the courtroom.

On Day 3 of Javen Conner’s trial for allegedly killing Isabella Carlos, the prosecution had to resort to other means to attempt to link him to the shots fired.

Prosecutors presented security camera footage that they allege showed Conner and his brother and co-defendant Antawan Benson carrying weapons that match the type that fire the two different calibers of ammunition recovered at the scene…
