MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WKEF) — Twenty-four-year-old Antawan Benson was sentenced to a minimum of 67 years in prison on Monday for his role in the death of 12-year-old Isabella Carlos, who was shot and killed while she was sleeping in August 2024.
Benson’s trial lasted a little over a week and started in the first week of December.
A jury found Benson guilty on all of the charges he was indicted on, which are listed below:
- 2 Counts Murder
- 3 Counts Improperly Discharging a Firearm at or into a Habitation
- 3 Counts Felonious Assault
- 1 Count Aggravated Menacing
- 2 Counts Having Weapons While Under Disability
- 1 Count Discharge of a Firearm on or near Prohibited Premises
It is possible for him to be up for parole, with good behavior, after 67 years. Otherwise, he will be up for parole after 72 1/2 years in prison. If he does not get paroled, he could spend the rest of his life behind bars…
