Holiday foster program at SICSA aims to reduce shelter stress and boost pet adoptions

MIAMI VALLEY, Ohio — SICSA’s holiday foster program aims to get pets out of the shelter for the holidays.

Right now through the new year, SICSA is looking for fosters to help them get as many pets as they can out of the shelter and into loving homes. The director of shelter operations shared how you can get involved, and how a break from the shelter can help pets get adopted.

“If you’re in town for the holidays, a lot of people take time off work. Maybe they have a little more time at home. It’s a great time to consider, you know, taking a pet home, even just temporarily. Our foster programs are really great to help get animals out of the shelter, even if it’s just for a short period of time,” explained Jessie Sullivan, Director of Shelter Operations at SICSA…
