Downtown Dayton safety draws focus of elected officials, business leaders

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Congressman Mike Turner, other elected officials and business leaders held a news conference on Monday to present their recommendations to improve the safety of downtown Dayton.

A working group that included those present today, along with law enforcement, Dayton commissioners and Montgomery County commissioners came together at the end of last summer and formed a working group to tackle the problem of safety downtown Dayton.

“Everybody’s working on the problem, but there hasn’t been a whole lot of coordination, and so, what our effort has been is how do we bring more of each of these things, but also, how do we coordinate them so everyone’s working together?” said Rep. Turner…
