Schools in Ohio announce closures due to power outages

OHIO — A power outage forced the closure of a Catholic school and disrupted preschool schedules in Montgomery County on Friday as storms moved through the region.

St. Peter School in Huber Heights announced shortly before 8 a.m. that it was without electricity and would be closed for the day. The school is located on Chambersburg Road. School officials did not provide an estimate for when power would be restored.

In addition, Huber Heights City Schools announced there would be no morning preschool classes on Friday due to a power outage at the Studebaker building. Other district operations were not immediately affected…
