CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) – A jail in Ohio is facing scrutiny from lawmakers who claim the facility violates basic standards for inmate housing, conditions and meals, including what the sheriff calls a “warden burger” fed to inmates in solitary.
State Reps. Christine Cockley and Mark Sigrist, along with Sen. William DeMora, all Democrats, are asking the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections to investigate the Butler County Jail.
In a Jan. 6 letter, the group wrote that there is “documented evidence of dangerous and deteriorating conditions” at the jail, including inmate overcrowding, food service violations and heating deficiencies…
