COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) – An 83-year-old Ohio man was convicted of murder after fatally shooting an Uber driver he mistakenly believed was involved in a scam, authorities said.
PEOPLE reported that a jury on Jan. 14 found William J. Brock guilty in the March 25, 2024, shooting of Lo-Letha Toland-Hall in South Charleston, according to Clark County prosecutors. Brock is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 21.
Investigators said Brock had been duped into withdrawing $12,000 as part of a scam and wrongly assumed Toland-Hall, 61, was connected. Toland-Hall was hired through the Uber app to pick up a package from Brock’s home, authorities said, PEOPLE reported…
