BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – A man is facing multiple charges after a crash in Hamilton that killed three people, including a 10-year-old boy, authorities said.
Brandon Begley, 41, has been charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the Dec. 21 crash.
Investigators said Begley was driving about 75 mph on River Road near Hooven Avenue while attempting to pass three vehicles. He crossed a double yellow line into oncoming traffic, then struck a curb after returning to the southbound lane. Authorities said Begley overcorrected, veered back into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Honda Civic, sending it into a detached garage and a fence.
All three occupants of the Civic were pronounced dead at the scene. The Butler County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Milton Alvarez Lagos, 35; Bety Salazar Lopez, 27; and Milton Salazar Alvarez, 10.
