19-year-old pleads guilty in UD shots fired case

The 19-year-old charged with a 2025 shootout that happened near campus homes at University of Dayton has entered his plea.

Dylan Hiner pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court:

  • For illegally receiving a firearm or ammunition while under indictment for another felony crime.

Court documents show that Hiner was on campus for a Halloween party on Nov. 1. During the party, Hiner shot multiple rounds into the air.

One student was hit by the gunfire, sustaining a non life-threatening injury. Two homes were struck by gunshots as well.
